Abstract

This final report aims to compare the speed of access, quality of picture and sound during a video conference with Skype in a building that has three floors, especially on every floor will do a video conference where the modem is located on the 2nd floor using network technology WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access). The device used was a laptop and a smartphone, one or both devices will use Wigo 4G modem connection. Then the data viewed from any device that uses WiMAX is what will capture. In the calculations performed to determine how the value of SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) is obtained on WiMAX modems are used. The results of this final report shows that the ratio of signal power obtained on each floor are different because the distance wireless modem Wigo only about 10 meters and on the floor are going to get quality video conferencing service is good. To avoid delay in picture and sound when doing Skype on different floors could be the addition of an access point on each of the floors.
