Abstract
Kelurahan Karang Jaya is a residential and commercial area which increase from year to year, but the common obstacle for the customers where the service of clean water supply is not well served. The purposed of the writer is to know how much water discharge that must be drained in that area. Applied method is by collecting secondary data. Population data was used to calculate is related to calculate the amount of water needed, which subsequently used to analyze the pipeline with Hardy Cross method. In the calculation with the Hardy Cross method, the pipe characteristics and waterflow that is entering and leaving the pipeline are known and the discharge will be calculated on each element of the pipeline. From the result of water requirerments calculation, obtained that water discharge that will be drained in Kelurahan Karang Jaya for next 20 years (2013-2033) is 310,241liter/second.Currently available capacity in PDAM Tirta Musi Palembang is 128,583 liter/second, so water discharge increase is required.
