Abstract

INDUCTIVE CHARGER APPLICATION AS THE PHONE CHARGERS (2014 : xiv + 39 Pages + Attachment) HERWINSAH Department of Electrical Engineering Electronics Engineering Study Program Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya Each phone requires electricity energy to operate, the electrical energy obtained from a battery that is not continuous, so we must to charge the phone’s battery with using a charger that comes connecting cable. However, mobile phone charger connecting cable is not always the same between each other, in other words, if we have more than one brand mobile phone so we need many different types of charger cable for charging mobile phone batteries. To overcome the problem of the charger cable, designed a induktive charger that can charge mobile phone battery without connecting it to a power source using a cable (wireless charging). Charging is done by putting the phone on a pad that can produce an electric current through the magnetic induction process occurs in two induction coils, induction coils first on the transmitter that function to send power and a second induction coil in the receiver is used to receive power from the transmitter then used to charge mobile phones. In the mobile phone battery charging process, the distance between the transmitter coil and a receiver coil as well as the condition of phones (ON / OFF) affects the length of time required to perform inductive charging mobile phone battery charging with a capacity of 1200 mAh (mili Ampere hour). The closer the receiver coil of the transmitter coil and the phone in OFF condition the faster the time required for charging mobile phone battery.
