Abstract
Soil is an important element in supporting development activities in the world of construction, where every building will need soil as a place to stand. The condition of the subgrade will affect the strength of the building above it, so various studies have been carried out in an effort to improve the condition of the subgrade to make it better. One type of soil that is often found in South Sumatra is clay. Clay soil is a type of fine-grained soil that is strongly influenced by water content. Clay soil has a low bearing capacity value, therefore analysis is needed to test the effect of adding mixed materials to clay soil. In this study, the addition of a mixture of cement, husk ash, and fiber to the original soil, and shear strength testing on soil conditions was carried out so that it could be seen the effect of adding a mixture of cement, husk ash, and fiber to the soil. Soil samples were taken from Banyuasin Regency with a variation of 0.1% fiber mixture, 2.5% husk ash and cement consisting of 2.5%, 5% and 7.5%. The test results show that the addition of a mixture of fiber, husk ash and cement can improve the mechanical properties of clay, where the cohesion value increases with the addition of 7.5% cement by 60%, from 26.33 kPa to 43.78 kPa, while the shear angle increased from 9.80o to 17.30o
