Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the steps to write the storybook entitled Kemas and the Magic Maksuba Village. The problem limitation of this study is to write a storybook for children from 6 to 8 years old. The writer used research and development (R&D) method by Sukmadinata (2005) including: (1) preliminary study, and (2) model development. The data were collected from literature study and documentation. Based on the research findings, the writer made the storybook pictures which was develop through five steps including: developing story idea (theme), collecting storytelling material, determining the title of the story, determining the characters of the story, making a storyboard. The validity of the storybook was reviewed by six experts in related fields, namely languange experts (English and Indonesian) and illustration experts. The output of this study is a storybook entitled Kemas and the Magic Maksuba Village written in English and Indonesian with 35 pages.
