Abstract

The problems of this study are “what are grammatical errors found in guide book of south sumatra ?”, “what types of error are found in guide book of south sumatra ?”, and “what is the most dominant error found in guide book of south sumatra ?”. The objectives of this study are to know what grammatical errors which are found in guide book of south sumatra, to know what types of error which are found in guide book of south sumatra, and to know what the dominant error which is found in guide book of south sumatra. The writer used descriptive method and the object of research was guide book of south sumatra. The writer collected the data by doing observation from the documentation. Then, the writer analyzed, classified and made the percentage of grammatical errors ,and mostly appeared in the book. Based on the findings, the writer found 181 errors. They are 34.25 % omission errors, 12.70 % addition errors, 48.06 % misinformation errors, and 4.97 % misordering errors. By analyzing, the most dominant grammatical error in the book is misinformation error.
