Abstract

Android phone theft remains a persistent concern in today's society, given the widespread usage and market dominance of Android devices. To combat this issue, the integration of GPS tracking technology has significantly improved the security of Android phones. GPS tracking allows users to remotely track the location of their stolen devices, increasing the chances of recovery and apprehending thieves. This paper explores the impact of GPS tracking on Android phone theft security. The implementation of GPS tracking enables users to pinpoint the exact location of their stolen devices, providing valuable information to law enforcement agencies for investigation and recovery efforts. Additionally, GPS tracking is often coupled with other security features such as remote lock and wipe capabilities, further enhancing the protection of personal data. Users can remotely lock their stolen phones to prevent unauthorized access, and in extreme cases, initiate a remote wipe to safeguard sensitive information.
