Abstract
Vocational tertiary institutions currently require practical lecturers to meet the percentage of teachers who come from the business world and the industrial world. This study aimed to create a selection model for practicing lecturers using a decision support system approach. To answer this problem, a group decision support system model was developed, in which decision-makers involve departments, human resources, and university leaders. The method used is Evaluation based on Distance from Average solution for individual decision making, and the Copeland score method is used for aggregating each decision maker. Five criteria were used, namely education level, work experience, number of certificates of expertise, test scores and interviews, and age were tested in the model with a total of 5 alternatives. The research results show that the model developed can provide the best alternative recommendations. This is proven by the calculation results of a combination of the two methods used in the model. So this model can be used as a tool for higher education management in making decisions.
