Abstract
Subgrade is a structure that is very important in building a road construction because the subgrade will support traffic loads or construction loads above. The strength and durability of the pavement structure, will greatly depend on the properties and subgrade bearing capacity. Some of the problems that often arise about the durability and strength of a pavement, it is essentially dominated by the dispute. Improvements on subgrade were soft due to changes in moisture content generally by modifying or making special handling to produce the subgrade be better for a road construction as well as materials that meet the standards of road planning. One attempt to do to improve the properties of the soil by way of stabilization. This study aims to increase stabilization of subgrade with addition of chemical geopolymer with mixing method chemical geopolymer added at 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, ,and 25% of the total optimum weight of water through laboratory testing process. Based on the results of laboratory CBR testing the effect of adding chemical geopolymer to the value of CBR is organic clay of field CBR value smaller when compared to the land that has been added with chemical geopolymer . In the CBR without soaking native land value percentage is 15.40%, while the percentage of the value of CBR with soaking is 8.09%. CBR value highest percentage of clay was achieved in 20% condition with the addition of chemical geopolymer on CBR value of 47.64% and 16.17% without soaking the CBR immersion. Keywords: soil clay, chemical geopolymer, CBR (California Bearing Ratio)
