v ABSTRACT GROUNDING SYSTEM ANALYSIS OF 20 MVA POWER TRANSFORMER AT SUNGAI JUARO SUBTATION PT. PLN (PERSERO) BY USING MATLAB (2015 : xiv + 43 Pages + appendices) MUHAMMAD JUNDAN JAMIL ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING STUDY PROGRAM STATE POLYTECHNIC OF SRIWIJAYA In the process of transfering the electricity energy, the power transformer as the electrical energy transferred has the important role there. Therefore, it is necessary to have the security to secure the transformer from every trouble that happened.Besides, it is also can limit the trouble current that can be endangering the equipment and the people One of the safety that used in the power transformer is grounding system which is functioned as the media for transfering the trouble current to the ground if there are lighting and isolation failure from the transformator. To get a grounding resistance value at 20 MVA power transformer substations sungai juaro direct measurements using a digital earth tester, so that it can be the value of resistance grounding transformer power substations sungai juaro is 0,68 ohm. While the results of calculations by using MATLAB from the data obtained for the 20 MVA power transformer substations sungai juaro , obtained grounding resistance value is 2,78241 ohm. So from the result of direct measurement and the calculation of resistant value still fulfills the standard of PUIL it is ≤ 5 ohm. To make the value of grounding not going to have any changing, it is better to have maintenance and measurement for grounding value periodically. Keyword : Grounding system
