Abstract

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder in women of reproductive age and requires a proper diagnosis for effective treatment. At Siti Fatimah Az-Zahra Regional Hospital, the PCOS diagnosis process still faces challenges in terms of speed and accuracy. This study aims to develop a web application that uses the forward chaining method as an expert system to help diagnose PCOS more quickly and accurately. The forward chaining method was chosen because of its systematic inference capability through reasoning from initial facts to a diagnostic conclusion. This study uses a system development approach with the stages of needs analysis, design, implementation, and application testing. The results of the forward chaining method application in the web application show that the system is able to provide a PCOS diagnosis that is in accordance with applicable medical criteria with an efficient response time. The conclusion of this study is that a web application based on the forward chaining method can be an effective tool to support the PCOS diagnosis process at Siti Fatimah Az-Zahra Regional Hospital, thereby improving the quality of health services and accelerating patient care.
