Abstract

This research was titled Manufacturing Of Silica Gel Using Ash from Shell and Fiber Palm Oil At PT. Sriwijaya Palm Oil Indonesia by The Effect Of Concentration Na2CO3 As Solvent has been held with purpose to get best concentration of sodium carbonat and to produce silica gel with standar quality. Silica gel is a substans that used for absorbing humidity and liquid particle from valve room or damp room. Silica gel can help to hold the damage in thing that want to save. The process of manufacturing silica gel used ekstraction with refluks method, which the main material is ash from solid waste PT. Sriwijaya Palm Oil Indonesia. Ash was dissolved with 600 mL sodium carbonat solution with concentration variations were 1 M, 1,5 M, 2 M, 2,5 M dan 3 M. Then was ekatract for 2 hours with the temperature is 1100C, So that was gotten the ekstract with solution form and to get the solid, used presipitation process with added clorid acid solution. After the product was gotten, the product was done analysis of silca content and absorption. So that was gotten the result nearing standar quality is 12 % - 26 % wherever the standar of absorption is 24 %. Key Words: Shell, fiber, sodium carbonat, silica gel, ekstaction an presipitation
