Abstract
Natural dye which has potency to be extracted is anthocyanin from henna leaves water. Anthocyanin is a pigment of which feature is polar and it can dissolve well in polar solvent. Therefore, in this research henna leaves water is extracted by ethanol, ethanol and water and acetone. The purpose of this research is to decide the influence of the type of solvent to the quality of natural dye textile from henna leaves water. This research has three phase. The first is extracting the pigment from henna leaves water by using 300 ml of solvent. The second phase is testing the stability of natural dye. Stability to sunlight, stability to pH, and the stability of storage condition. The third phase is application staining substance to textile fabric. In this research, cotton fabric absorbs the natural dye well. Key words: Extraction, anthocyanin, henna leaves water, color stability
