Abstract
Steam Power Generation is a power plant that utilizes the heat energy of the steam to turn a turbine so that it can be used to generate electric power through the generator. The chemical reaction of burning occurs through an oxidation process of carbon compounds , hydrogen and sulfur that are present in the fuel generally produce flame. The purpose of this undergraduate thesis is to determine the optimum operating conditions in terms of temperature of a flame of fire ( Flame temperature ) in the combustion chamber ( the burning zone ), loss of heat flue gas and efficiency of boiler type fire tube boiler. The procedure is done with fixed parameters, namely the volume of diesel fuel used by as much as 4 liters, while the independent parameter, i.e. the fuel with the air presure variation 4, 5, 6, and 7 Bar. Based on the results of the calculation of the theoritical flame temperature solar incentives that are in the range 481,62o C – 527,21o C whereas in actual using thermo gun obtained temperature flame 470o C – 530o C. From research conducted fuel optimum air pressure is 5 Bar with temperature flames of 527,21o C generating efficiency of 60,85%.
