Abstract

Research on Physical and mechanical characteristics of the titled particle board from the empty Palm Bunches with Additive Variation and types of Adhesives has been carried out with the purpose of knowing and evaluating the influence of the addition of the additive levels against the Board and in accordance with the standards of JIS A5908-2003. The weakness of the particle board in General is the magnitude of the value development of thick, therefore in this study used ingredients of additives to reduce the absorption of water. The standards used in this research is a Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) with 5908-2003 Board with dimensions of 25 cm x 25 cm x 1 cm, temperature of continuous 1500C, pressure 16 Mpa with a time of 30 minutes. In this study uses two types of adhesives namely adhesives and glues rubber wood likuida urea formaldehyde. The results of testing the physical and mechanical properties of the best on likuida rubber wood adhesive contained on form 4 sample KR 0,591 gr/cm3, KA 6,472%, DSA 57,319%, PT 5,714% MOE 1204,00 kg/cm2, MOR 19,31 kg/cm2, IB 0,244 kg/cm2, KPS 36,08 kg. The results of testing the physical and mechanical properties of the best on the urea formaldehyde adhesive is present on the sampled 2 either be KR 0.564 gr/cm3, KA% 9,669, DSA 92,220%, PT 10,656% MOE 888,64 kg/cm2, MOR 14,87 kg/cm2, IB is damaged, the KPS 22.05 kg. The particle board using rubber wood likuida adhesive suitable for exterior and interior use because it has been tested in physical standards.
