Abstract
Psidium Guajava L. is plant that produce a fruits that found in Indonesia. These plant has many advantages, which one of the benefit it on leave it contained tanin compound. There are of tanin contained on the guava leave, if will be these plant could be used as corrosion reaction inhibitor of the iron. Beside that the price is lower compare it with sintetic inhibitor like pure tanin. The utilization that could do is giving an extract so it will get extract that useful as pure corrosion inhibitor and environment friendly. The purpose of the result is to know about extract of psidium guajava effectivity, that contain tanin compound as the iron corosion inhibitor on HCl liquid 3% weight lost with inhibitor consentration variation (5000 ppm, 10000 ppm, 15000 ppm, 20000 ppm, and 25000 ppm), and long term (2 day, 4 day, 6 day, 8 day, and 10 day), the result that show it of guava leave extract that could controls corrosion movement with highest inhibitor efficiency as 49,7330% on 25000 ppm on the second days and the lowest of inhibitor eficiency as 13,0101% on 5000 ppm on the tenth days.
