Abstract
GENDING SRIWIJAYA DANCE AS A CULTURAL TOURISM ATTRACTION OF PALEMBANG ABSTRACT (Dwi Endah Saraswati, 2015, 25 pages) Palembang has its own culture that can be seen from the masterpieces created by the people of Palembang, and one of them is Gending Sriwijaya dance. Gending Sriwijaya dance is a traditional dance of Palembang that contains of Palembang culture in every elements of the dance. Gending Sriwijaya dance can be shown to people as a tourism attraction of Palembang to introduce the Palembang culture. The problem of this report is formulated as what makes Gending Sriwijaya dance becomes a cultural attraction of Palembang if it is seen in the held events. The main purpose of this report is to know what makes Gending Sriwijaya dance becomes as a cultural tourism attraction of Palembang. The data was collected using snowball interview. The result shows that Gending Sriwijaya dance includes as cultural tourism attraction because Gending Srwijaya dance contains of Palembang culture in every elements of the dance which is also as the dance attraction that can attract the viewers. Gending Sriwijaya dance also has a certain function which it is performed to welcome noble guests as the characteristic of the dance. By showing Gending Sriwijaya dance, it is expected that this dance could be preserved
