Abstract

This study aims to analyze the argumentative language used in podcast discussions by Elon Musk about artificial intelligence and to examine how the arguments are structured in spoken discourse. The data consist of selected podcast discussions published by Peter H. Diamandis, 2026. The analysis is based on Toulmin’s Model of Argumentation, focusing on claim, data (grounds), warrant, backing, qualifier, and rebuttal as the main components of argumentative structure. The findings are expected to reveal that argumentative language plays an important role in shaping persuasive communication in discussions about artificial intelligence. The speaker constructs arguments by presenting claims supported by reasoning, explanations, and supporting evidence, which strengthen the effectiveness of the message. Therefore, this study contributes to discourse analysis by providing insight into how argumentative structures are used in contemporary podcast discourse related to artificial intelligence.
