Abstract
Drying is a process of mass transfer and heat transfer simultaneously, which require heat energy to evaporate the water content is removed from the surface of the material is dried by the media in the form of hot air dryers. By using a steam dryer's media, it will be known optimum conditions the drying time compared with the direct sun which is about 6 until 7 hours. Efficiency is a level of working ability of a device. Comparison of the time and boiler efficiency obtained is 6 hours : 11.30%, 6.5 hours: 11.27%, and 7 hours : 11.26%. Then analyzed that the long drying time is a decisive factor boiler efficiency percentage. The more heat lost to the boiler, the more heat that will affect to the drying chamber.
