Abstract
The needs of coconut is very high and needed nowadays, we need a tool which can help us to strip the coconut shell. However, the processing of stripping coconut shell is very slow, so it will influence the energy and efficiency. The purpose of this final report is design tool of coconut shell peeler to help and increase the production of coconut become effective and maximal. So that’s why, the writer make a design tool of coconut shell peeler which is used to help human doing this job become more efficient, faster and save more energy. The steps which have been done are survey on the spot, analyse, and create. The transmission system using pully and belt along with sprocket and chain. Based on the calculation result of this design, this will require an electric motor whose its spesification has ½ HP to spin the knife peeler of this design tool of coconut shell peeler. To know the performance of this tool, we have done 5 times the tests. Based on those 5 times the tests we got average time while the tool was working is 25,2 seconds.
