Abstract
Indonesia as a developing country is in dire need of heavy equipment with the aim of helping the work can not be done by humans . Types of heavy equipment needed one of them is the compactor. Soil compactor was created with the aim of compacting with a small scale and save costs . The working principle is the soil compactor to tamp the soil and other material with a maximum load of 450 kg . The drive mechanism soil compactor include : motor gasoline, sprockets, belts, pulleys, gears, chains, and shafts.
