Abstract

Traffic accidents are things that often happens. One of the main factors of traffic accidents are due to human error, loss of concentration when driving be the main reason in this case. For every car is required to provide more comfort and safety. One of the things that can be applied to realize these demands are auto-brake system (automatic braking) on the car. At the final project was made by an automatic braking system that is applied to the electric car. The workings of this system is to detect the distance to the obstacle by a sensor LV-MaxSonar EZ1 in front of electric car and the wheel rotation speed optocoupler data sensor is processed in the microcontroller ATMega32. Then the data will be displayed on the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and give the signal for the actuator a servo motor MG996R with a large torque that will pressure the brake pedal automatically. With the creation of the automatic braking system on the electric car is expected to reduce the risk of road traffic accidents.
