Abstract

Analysis calculation of electricity energy saving was obtained after the installation of capacitor bank at MSS (Main Switch Station) PTBukit Asam (Persero)Tbk.The writer wanted to know how much electrical energy savings especially electricity rates after the installation of capacitor banks in PTBA. To determine the amount of electrical energy savings, the authors calculate the amount of power early in consumption electrical loads, namely the state of the capacitor is not mengkomensasi load (capacitor = 0), then calculated also the amount of power after compensation load by using a capacitor bank that will be both the results will be compared and calculated the amount of the difference between the value of power consumption before and after the load compensation can thus be calculated also benefits obtained after the installation of capacitor banks.The data inside this Final Report had been collected by interview with the Electrical Maintenance employees of PT. Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk., the Mechanical Maintenance employees of PT. Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk. and observation on the writen object direcly.Base on the result of calculation, total savings amounted to 1077.6 KVA apparent power and reactive power of 2,238 KVAR. And also obtained capacitor bank rating corresponding to the load on PTBA pemakaiann amounted to 5225.24 KVAR or about 5.2 MVAR with a capacity of capacitors connected in star rating of 124 μF capacitor which is able to increase cos φ to 0.95. And can know the amount of electricity cost savings of Rp2.550.400 /hourWriter conclude that the performance of the capacitor bank at PT. Bukit Asam (Persero), Tbk. TanjungEnim has been effective to obtain the efficiency and power consumption, and also it can save power so as to reducethe production costs
