Abstract

The final report is about the calculation of losses on the transmission line simulation in the laboratory of electrical engineering polytechnic sriwijaya. The data is collected on the no-load experiment, mixed loads experiment with a load R and L, mixed loads experiment with a load R, L, and C. In the experiment with no load the result of voltage loss is -18 V and the power loss 0 W because there is no value power active and power reactive in the no-load experiment. In the mixed loads experiment with a load R and L the result of voltage loss is 34 V and the result of power loss is 4 W. In the mixed loads experiment with a load R, L, and C the result of voltage loss is -11 V and the result of power loss is 8 W. The factors that cause the voltage loss and power loss are the resistance, inductive reactance, and capacitive reactance. In a transmission line of middle and upper value of the capacitive reactance should not be ignored. The value of capacitance along the line, very influences the voltage loss. In addition, other factors that cause the voltage loss and power loss are resistivity conductor, conductor area, the line length and the magnitude of the current flowing in the transmission line.
