Abstract

Induction motor power factor which low will greatly harm consumers, especially as the industry's largest user. For industrial, low power factor conditions can not be avoided because the motor load varies. Induction motor with a full load can provide high power factor, but when the motor with low load power factor will fall to be able to reach 0,3. Such conditions can be overcame by the addition of capacitors. Capacitors are installed in parallel with the motor can be used to improve the power factor. Capacitor value should not exceed 90% of the motor no-load reactive power, because the capacitor value is too high can cause high working voltage. The results showed that with the installation of 2μF,4 μF,6 μF,8 μF capacitor with Υ relationship can improve the power factor up to 0.89 , 0.97 , 0.91 , 0.97 when the load 0 and 0.93 , 0.96 ,0.98 , 0.99Nm when the load 2,5 Nm. Likewise with the installation of 2μF,4 μF,6 μF,8 μF capacitor Δ relationship can improve the power factor up to 0.44 , 0.88 , 0.62 , 0.31when the load 0.91 , 0.99 ,0.98 , 0.88Nm and 2.5 Nm when theload.
