Abstract

The use of the electric motor as the driving very broad utilization in the industry.One use of the electric motor as the driving Conveyor Belt (Belt Carrier). Three phase induction motor as the driving force for the construction of three phase induction motor is simpler and constant with changes in load. Three phase induction motor as the driving Conveyor Belt by calculation of the power of the mechanical motion based construction Belt Conveyor obtained from the data in the field to determine the capacity of an induction motor power used and power generated three-phase AC motor during operation to transport coal. The calculations were made through a case study in PT. Bukit Asam (Persero), TbkTanjungEnim, generating power capacity three phase induction motor by 278,16kW. While the results of the calculation of the mechanical power from the Gear Reducer and Belt Conveyor amounted to 33 kW and 27,6 kW with kinetic energy (Ek) of 45015,7 joules of currently existing coal Conveyor Belt, while the mechanical energy without coal amounted to 17,3 kW and with Ek, 2811 joule
