Abstract
In an industry that uses a generator as a device to produce electrical energy, surely needs a seat on the generator. Disturbance in the generator may interfere with the operation of power generation systems. Therefore, in a generator at the plant of course equipped with protective devices to protect the generator in order to avoid unwanted interference. One of them is to use a differential relay. Differential relay is a protection tool that can protect interference in the stator coil generator is based on a balance which is the ratio of current flowing on both sides of the stator coil generator through the intermediary of a current transformer (CT). Pusri 1B in the setting current value on the CT is 3.21 A and pickup current value on the CT is 2.93 A. For CT nominal current has value of 2.79 A. Meanwhile, the actual current of the highest in CT is at a value of 1.8 A and lowest worth 1.625 A. Thus, the differential current is smaller than the current setting (Idif < Iset), it means that the generator is in a state of normal or no interference. In addition, the power consumption of the generator does not reach 60% in Pusri 1B is not economical. But it is aimed to keep the equipment in order to secure and mitigate the risk of loss due to damage of the equipment.
