Abstract
Impaired short-circuit current is one of the common problems in the distribution network , the short circuit current interruption can cause much harm one of which is the disruption of power supply to consumers . One way to overcome the short-circuit current interruption is to install protection equipment . This protective devices play an important role to overcome the interference with the requirement that is sensitive , fast , reliable , and selective determination depends on the settings on the equipment . One of the protective equipment that is used to secure the short-circuit current interruption is over current relay ( OCR ) . Overcurrent relays work with Circuit Breaker . If an interruption in the feed network system over current relay will work and give a signal to the circuit breaker to disconnect power to the network .The calculations were carried out here aims to calculate the short circuit current interruption and determining overcurrent relay settings . By calculating the short-circuit current interruption we can determine the current setting and time overcurrent relay with a predetermined equation .
