Abstract

Blind sticks is a tool that is used to facilitate blind people to do activity from one place to another place. It was made on 2010 with the same concept. However, it used shoes as a media to put ultrasonic sensor to detect something. Then in 2013, it has been created a tool with the same concept. It used stick as a media to put ultrasonic sensor detect something. These two devices work using microcontroller ATmega16 that order an ultrasonic sensor which has functions as an obstacle sensor for releasing ultrasonic waves into the air freely. When there is no obstacle at a distance transmit ultrasonic waves that are governed by the microcontroller, the ultrasonic wave will give feedback of reflected wave that will be interpreted by the microcontroller and will produce output in the form of vibration generated from a DC motor and the sound generated from the buzzer. The final result of this tool after being modified is a blind stick using Arduino Uno as the controller 3 pieces of ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles that are in front and when steping and down the stairs and will produce a sound output through modules Mp3 Player
