Abstract

Fish bone waste is a byproduct of fish processing units, which can be utilized to produce fish glue. Fish glue is an adhesive substance that made from collagen extract of fish skin and bones. The purpose of this research is to study the effect of physical and chemical concentration of fish bone glue cork to qualify SNI. The method used in the manufacture of glue cork fish bones in this study is the material preparation stage, the stage of soaking solution of acid and lime solution, extraction, and concentration. This study was conducted by two independent variables are the type of solvent (CH3COOH and H3PO4) and solvent concentration (3.5 % , 4.0 % , 4.5 % , 5.0 % and 5.5 %) and a variable fixed ie the extraction temperature at 70 °C . The parameters observed in this study among which smell and color, pH, moisture content, ash content, aggregation, and yield. The results of the most good glue contained in the glue using a solvent H3PO4 4 % at pH 6, the water content of 42.03 %, 37.76 % ash content, aggregation of 21.07 N / mm2 , yellowish beige color and a bit smelly.
