Abstract

Road have an important role inimproving the economic growthboth locally and nationally. On the writing of this final report, we want to study how to plan a good geometric and pavement thickness design on Jalan Terawas – Taba Tinggi, So that the road cansafe, comfortable and economical for the users. On this planning of road, we use an existing trace data, daily traffic data, CBR (California Bearing Ratio) dataand contour map. On planning a geometric design of a road, things to be the referrals are horizontal alignment, vertical alignment and determining what kind of pavement to use. From the calculation, Jalan Terawas – Taba Tinggi is a IIA-class road with the speed plan of 80km/hour, and consist of 6 curves that is3 Spiral-Circle-Spiral, 2 Spiral-Spiral and 1 Full Circle. Surface layer with AC-WC layer with 4 cm thickness, AC-BC layer with 6 cm thickness, AC-Base layer with 7,5 cm thickness, upper layer using B-class aggregate with 15 cm thickness and bottom layer with B-class aggregate with 16 cm thickness. According to the budget plan, the cost of this project is Rp. 51.851.350.000,00(Fifty One Billion Eight Hundred Fifty One Million Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Rupiah) with 137 days of execution time.
