Abstract

Grounding is one of the key factors as a security attempt (protection) of power system. There are some differences type of soil in Palembang, South Sumatra which is very influental on the safety of grounding system to be built. The study was conducted by analyzing the grounding resistance value on some soil types using rod electrodes. The rod electrodes implanted to a depth of 20 cm up to 50 cm with each electrode distance of 5 meters. As the results of this study, the comparison of the grounding resistance value of each type of soil has been obtained. So it is known that which type of soil that can be the ideal choice as the grounding conductor of the electric current.
