Abstract

Unbalance load is inevitable in power distribution. Especially in the low voltage network. The higher unbalance load will be equal to currents arising in the neutral conductor. The current flowing in the neutral conductor will become loss of electrical power on the network. Therefore, in electrical power distribution the unbalance load should be minimized in order to achieve optimal efficiency. This research was done at PT.PLN Rayon Kenten, by taking samples of 3 distribution substations. Data were collected at two time, at the time of peak load and beyond peak load. From the calculation of data obtained, we can see that the loss of electrical power due to load unbalance on the three samples is around 0.05% ~ 4.38%.
