Abstract
The discussion of this theses aimed to the relay at substation Seduduk Putih, distance relay is used as the main protector at high voltage airway (SUTT) and also as the backup for the front section. Distance relay work by measuring amount of impedance (Z) of the transmission, devided into some scope areas, they are Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 3, and also equipped with teleprotection (TP) as an effort in order to the protection always works fast and selectively in the protection area. The purpose of this theses is calculating work setting of distance relay in 3 scope areas, they are Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3 both primary impedance which is read in the line and secondary impedance is read by the relay. From the measuring got the result for primary zone was 1 0,528 Ω, primary Zone 2 0,7932Ω and primary Zone 3 0,9512 Ω. Meanwhile for the measuring of secondary impedance which read at the relay, it got result for secondary Zone 1 0,060 Ω, secondary Zone 2 0,091 Ω and secondary Zone 3 0,109 Ω. By calculating work settings of relay carefully, it expected to improve the protector performance and make the relay be more selective. Keywords : Relay, Distance Relay, Protection Relay
