Abstract

Generator is the main tools to generate electricity. In normal operation does not always work, but sometimes it happens disorders (abnormal) resulting in reduced reliability and if not addressed can interfere with the system even damage to the equipment. Therefore, it takes and so-called protection. We knew that fault often happened in electrical system or electrical equipment especially generator. In this report, we discuss how to protect the generator against overcurrent interruption or short-circuit current. To simplify the calculation and analysis of interference, the system is simulated using ETAP software. Protection relays are used or in the setting is over current relay. Relay serves to protect against fault current phase-ground, phase-phase and phase-ground phase.By knowing short circuit currents, Setting over current relay is 2,03 A and time dial is 1,06 second.
