Abstract

Each operation of a 3 phase induction motor used as a driver will suffer losses, the resulting losses will affect the efficiency of the motor. This final report calculates the efficiency of 3 phase induction motors used as cooling tower pumps. The calculation is done through case study at PT. PLN Generation Sector Keramasan. Based on the calculation results obtained input power (input) of the motor on July 9, 2017 at 11:00 pm for 127245,978 Watt and power losses of the motor is amounted to 245.978 Watts The authors conclude that the efficiency of 3 phase induction motors used as cooling tower pumps at PT. PLN Generation Sector Keramasan with the ratio of output power to power losses on July 9, 2017 at 11:00 am is 90.80%.
