Abstract
Advancement in science and technology (IPTEK) is increasingly leading to developments in various fields and aspects of life as well as in the electronics world associated with the control system. One technology that is constantly being developed in the industry in the field of control is PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). In the type of electric motor industry used to drive a device is an AC motor (Alternative Current). This is because AC motors have advantages, among others, because the power is larger and easier in adjusting the rotation. In this tool will learn the application of PLC with thermocouple sensor input and learn how thermocouple sensor work as a regulator of AC motor speed. Thermocouple sensor is a sensor that converts temperature into voltage. This sensor can detect temperature from -200oC to +1200oC. However, the temperature to be detected in this device is limited from 0 ° C to 100 ° C. How this tool works when thermocouple sensors detect temperatures of less than 30 ° C then the speed of the AC motor is off, if the temperature is between 30 ° C and 60 ° C then the motor speed will be moderate, and when the temperature detects between 70oC and 100oC then the motor speed will Fast. In this change the speed of AC motor produces motor speed values starting from 1905 RPM (PerMenit Rotation) when the temperature is 30oC and keeps growing until it reaches 100oC the value of motor speed reaches 3164 RPM. Change the value of this motor speed changes every increase of 20oC. Thus, the value of the AC motor velocity and the resulting voltage depends on how much temperature is detected by the thermocouple sensor.
