Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the role or relevance of education to the number of main job as entrepreneurs in the various countries in the world, with a consideration of the entrepreneurship role improtance as one of the work options for human welfare and social stability, since acces to income generating job opportunities is important for economic security in a market – based wconomic system. The data used in this study is the employment data with the main job as entrepreneur or self-employment, the secondary school enrollment ratio data and the interest rat differential data from various countries in the world in 2008 for wich data is availabel, ie some 58 countries, including Indonesia. Using regresion analysis, the results of this study support the results and negative impact of educational factors as measured by the ratio of secondary school enrollment rates and a signficant and positive impact of the financial market condition factor as measure by the interest rate differential to the number of workers with primary job as an entrepreneur.
