Abstract
This final report describes the use of simple present tense in introduction chapter of the students’ final reports. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method, where the writer described the correct and incorrect sentences from the introduction chapter of final report students’ graduated in 2017. After getting the data, the writer calculated the data and percentage the data into a chart. There are correct sentences by using verb1, verb1 + s/es, and tobe. Furthermore, the writer grouped incorrect sentences into three types; they are Omission error, Addition error, and Misinformation error. It could be concluded that from the data, there were found that the correct usage is higher than the error usage. Finally, the writer found that there were 319 sentences of Simple Present Tense in the introduction chapters from 25 final reports, each introduction chapter consists 3 up to 4 pages and the correct sentences consist were 91, 0% and the incorrect sentences consist were 9, 0%.
