Abstract
The purpose of this final report is to know how to design the Smart magazine for the student association at English Department of State Polytechnic of Sriwijaya and motivate the English Department students to show up their English writing skill. In this final report,the writer usesthe modification of Research and Development Method from Sukmadinata (2005). Using three main steps in Research and Development Method: preliminary study, model development and final product testing. And after that the writer tell about how to design Smart magagzine. And then tell about the rubrics from the Smart magazine. the story tell about the struggle of palembang community in defend palembang city attacked from dutch at that time.There are front and back cover, editor's voice, table of contents, close up, campus flash, did you know? , sport spot, alumni chat, students Polsri, fiddle fit, English corner, advertisement, tea time and student creations.
