Abstract
This research focuses on writing “a story book of Rumah Puteri Mati Melayang legend: an English version. The purpose of this research is to write the story book of Rumah Puteri Mati Melayang legend and translate the story into English version. Research and Development (R&D) method modified from Borg&Gall was used in the research. The method consists of two steps: research steps and development steps. The modification was conducted due to the limitation of fund and time. The result revealed that in writing a story book, the story in Bahasa Indonesia and English version were written by the writer and supported by some experts’ suggestion for better final version. The data and framework were prepared in writing story book. The story book was reviewed by the experts, they are: pemangku adat, the lecturers of English and Bahasa Indonesia. Finally, the storybook was printed as the final product. The story book is also aimed at preserving the story as a written documentation for Karang Raja village, Muara Enim regency especially for pemangku adat who has the responsibility in giving information about the history of village. . The story book can also be read for those who want to know further about the legend, especially in Karang Raja village, Muara Enim regency.
