Abstract

The research focuses on designing a novella containing some tourism destinations in Palembang as the setting places of the novella. The purpose of this research is to design a novella of which setting places are in some tourism destinations in Palembang, they are: Kampung Kapitan, Kampung Firma, Kampung Arab Al-Munawar, Pulau Kemaro, Sekanak area, Sungai Musi, and Benteng Kuto Besak. In this research, the writer used Research and Development Method modified from Sukmadinata (2015). The method consists of Preliminary Study, Development of the Product, and Final Product. The modification was conducted due to the limitation of time and budget. The writer collected the data through observation and interview. So, the writer concludes that the novella can be used as a medium to introduce tourism destinations in Palembang. The writer expects that the novella could be a good medium to introduce tourism destinations in Palembang.
