Abstract

This final report studies about arranging a video script with the topic about Blongsong cloth that is applied in a native advertising video. In arranging the video script, the writer used 2 theories in order to arrange a good video script, they are Hymes model of speaking (Hymes, 1973) and Bhatia’s moves framework (Bhatia V. K., 1993). The purposes of this research are to investigate the native advertising video script, start from the video script should fulfill the criteria of Hymes model of speaking framework, the moves that used in the video script based on Bhatia’s moves framework and how the wrtiter arrange the video script based on Hymes model of speaking and Bhatia’s moves framework. In the video script, the writer offered new knowledge and information about Blongsong cloth to attract the viewers to preserve and buy Blongsong cloth. In the methodology chapter, the writer used research and development (R&D) method(Sukmadinata, 2005). This method used in order to collect, classify, and describe the process in arranging the video script. The datawere obtained after follow the steps in this research methodology, start from preliminary study, development of the product, and final product testing. In preliminary study, the writer described the data obtained from the literature study, field survey, and product drafting. In development of the product, the writer asked some experts for their comments and suggestions in limited and wider testing. The writer stopped this research until wider testing step and did not carry out the final product testing step, because of limited time, cost, and energy. In conclusion, there are some revision from the experts in wider testing which related to the video script content, linguistic aspects of the video script, and also the script writing. After fixed the revision, the writer decided the product from wider testing as the final product of this research.
