Abstract

Utilization 0f Fresh Palm Dregs to be Alternative Fuel Oil (Biodiesel) With In Situ Transesterification Process (Guruh Dwiky prasetyo, 2014, 77 pages, 19 tables, 29 pictures, 4 enclosure Biodiesel is a fuel produced from vegetable oils such as palm oil, castor oil, and others. Oil processing in addition to producing Crude Palm Oil also produces byproducts or residues fresh and waste water. So if not treated properly will have a negative impact on the environment. This research aims to recover the form of CPO processing byproduct of palm fresh pulp (fibers) into biodiesel and studied the process of production through in situ transesterification process, since oil from oil palm fresh pulp has a free fatty acid (FFA) <5% ie levels of 1.7664%. This study was conducted to determine the influence of reaction time and reaction temperature variation (45 ᵒ C, 50 ᵒ C, 55 ᵒ C, 60 ᵒ C) on the quality of biodiesel in accordance with SNI 04-7182-2006 standards through in situ transesterification process. The results of the study of making methyl ester (Biodiesel) of oil palm fresh pulp with NaOH catalyst is obtained using the optimum conditions to produce biodiesel products meet the Indonesian National Standard is to use temperature of 55 ° C for 4 hours and the time acquired the biodiesel yield of 35.89%, density 0.8647 g / ml, 5.1064 cSt viscosity, acid number 0.449 mg.KOH / g, calorific value of 9445.897 Cal / g and a flash point of 138 ° C, where the value of biodiesel has met quality standards in accordance with ISO 04-7182 -2006.
