Abstract

The Influence of Feed Ratio and Stirring Speed for Making Liquid Potasium Sulfate Fertilizer from Palm Oil Shell Ash (Joko, 2014: 53 Pages, 11 Tables, 17 Pictures, 4 Attachments) Palm oil shell is one of agriculture waste. Therefore, it needs to do the research about the using of this waste. Knowing The Influence of Feed Ratio and Stirring Speed for Making Liquid Potasium Sulfate Fertilizer from Palm Oil Shell Ash with addition Sulfuric. Sulfate contained in gypsum was reacted with the potassium from the ash of palm oil shell. Cleansed palm oil shell, which is burned in the furnace at 450oC, mixed with the pulverized gypsum, at 150 mesh. Parameter variations which is used in this research is feed ratio: 5:1, 10:1, 15:1, and 20:1, and stirring speed: 300 rpm, 400 rpm, 500 rpm, and 600 rpm. The product, liquid K2SO4 fertilizer is earned by filtration process. The content of potassium, sulfate, and free acid as shulpuric acid of liquid fertilizer is analyzed. The optimum feed ratio and stirring speed is 15:1 and 600 rpm, with the result of potassium content 4,42%, sulfate content 2,96%, and free acid as shulpuric acid content 1,37%. Based on the research can be concluded that the liquid potassium sulfate fertilizer which made from palm oil shell ash and gypsum has meet the standard, based on SNI 02-2809-2005.
