Abstract
Sugar industry products and industrial production of tapioca in addition to produce, also produces such waste dregs. Because of the magnitude of the resulting dregs after waste processed, then the fibres both these materials are processed back to functions as a more useful product, namely ethanol. Ethanol, also called ethyl alcohol with the chemical formula C2H5OH or the boiling point with CH3CH2OH 78,4° C to get the ethanol must be with some processes i.e. reduction in lignin content, followed by hydrolysis sulfuric acid which converts starch or cellulose into glucose and fermentation in Saccharomyces Cerevisiae using anaerobic, followed by distillation of fermented products and analysis of ethanol. Raw bagasse and cassava dregs of dregs with the variation of the composition 0,5: 1, 0.7: 1, 1.5: 0.5, 1.5: 0.7. Obtained research results, the more the use of bagasse, then the greater levels of ethanol obtained. Best ethanol is obtained from the composition of 1.5: 0.7 with the concentration of sulfuric acid at 0,2M ethanol levels obtained 58.1% with the 48ml volume, refractive index 1,35066 and density 0,8297. Key words: ethanol, cane dregs , cassava dregs, lignin
