Abstract
Perusahaan harus menghitung harga pokok produksi karena sangat penting untuk menentukan harga jual agar dapat memperoleh laba yang diinginkan. Selain itu, perusahaan juga akan lebih mudah melakukan pengontrolan produksi jika mengetahui harga pokoknya. Penentuan harga pokok produksi dilakukan sebelum perusahaan menentukan harga jual, sedangkan PDAM Up Km4 Palembang tidak menghitung harga pokok produksi dikarenakan pemerintah telah menetapkan harga jual air. Seharusnya dalam menentukan harga jual sebaiknya perusahaan harus menghitung terlebih dahulu harga pokok produksi agar perusahaan mendapatkan keuntungan yang maksimal dan mengurangi resiko kerugian.
