Abstract
MAKING OF MIXED BIOCOAL LIGNITE COAL, HUSK AND COCONUT SHELL (EFFECT OF COMPOSITION AND SIZE MATERIAL) ( Rita Hertati, 2014, 56 Pages, 11 Tables, 17 Pictures, 3 Attachment ) Coal can be used for domestic purposes in the form of briquettes, but the use of coal briquettes still have a problem, that is difficult because the illuminated low levels of volatile matter. Another alternative to coal briquetting is through the process of merging with biomass (waste industry, agriculture, plantation containing a high cellulose) which is referred to as bioarang. Biocoal is a solid fuel made from coal as its main component with a mixture of biomass and additional adhesive carbonization process is performed on the raw materials prior to manufacture bicoal, then tested through proximate analysis, whether it meets the ISO standard. In making biocoal of lignite coal mixture, rice husk and coconut shell with composition variations (60, 70, and 80)% lignite coal and the size 60 and 20 mesh material. The resulting product is generally still not meet the ISO standard but based on calorific value, as a whole has met the ISO standard 01/6235/2000 because the values obtained have exceeded 5000 cal / g. From the results of the analysis showed that the composition of 80% biocoal lignite coal and the size of 60 mesh material is best compared to other samples.
