Abstract

The Influence Of Catalys Bentonyt On Percent Yield Fuel Product Of Catalytic Cracking Process By Reusing Solid Waste From Crumb Rubber Factory (Enda Lia Elvina , 2014: 64 pages, 15 tables, 20 pictures, 4 enclousers) Energy is an important thing in human life because virtually all human activity always requires energy. Therefore, research needs to solve that problem by making alternative energy by reusing of solid waste from crumb rubber factory become into liquid fuel alternatives. Nowadays this waste not recycle optimally. The base structure of rubber is linear chain of isoprene unit (C5H8)n rubber is a polymer of hydrocarbon, namely 2-metil-1,3 butadiena (isoprene). The main purpose of this research is the determination of optimum weight of catalyst in catalytic cracking process of solid waste as raw material isoprene liquid fuel. Operating condition takes place at atmospheric pressure with catalyst variations ranging from 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 grams for an hours. The results showed that the optimum occurs at a temperature of 250 oC with a catalyst weight of 15 grams. Percent yield obtained at 60,29 %. Can be concluded that the liquid fuel product from the distillation process consist of three componenets they are light fraction, semi-light fraction, and weight fraction.
