Abstract
DESIGN OF INCINERATOR FOR INFECTIOUS WASTE COMBUSTION METHOD USING PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CHAMBER Rosmaini 2014, 120 Pages, 59 tables, 25 Pictures, 5 Attachment Incinerator is a medical waste treatment technology that can destroy harmful components. Incinerator necessary for designing some considerations to note, that the amount of combustion air, waste products of combustion and incinerator design. Incinerator designed to have two combustion chambers. An important aspect in designing a incinerator need to pay attention to safety factors so that the results of the design is safe for the user and the surrounding environment during operation. For that needs to be taken into account engineering design of incinerator effective, efficient and optimal destroy infectious waste in accordance with safe operating conditions in the operation of the incinerator is seen from the influence of air pressure needed to flame temperature, and thermal efficiency. Retrieved incinerator design to measure the overall length of 571.6 mm, 452.2 mm and a width of 1174.35 mm high for infectious waste burning capacity of as much as 5 kg batch operations.Based on the theoretical design calculations, required air pressure of 1.013 bar for the process so that the actual observed with variations in air pressure of 1.2 bar, 1.4 bar, 1.6 bar, 1.8 bar and 2 bar. The optimum conditions were obtained, namely the actual air pressure of 2 bar seen by Incinerator Fuel efficiency space which in this case because the Secondary chamber including there in Primary chamber with an efficiency of 99.40%, with a flame temperature of 571oC primary and secondary flame temperature of 724oC.
